Default 17 x 11 all the way around?

My Father recently purchased Torq Thrust 2 wheels and tires, 17 x 11 all four corners (93´ stock LT1). Now it seems to me, the wider wheels up front is not a good idea. I drove his C4 and the front end feels high. That said, as a gift, I am thinking about buying him the smaller 17 x 9 wheels/tires to replace out his larger setup in the front.

Any feedback is appreciated in advance.

It's it's not causing a problem why change it? You can't rotate tires if you do that. Spend the money on other accessories or performance upgrades.

There was another post not too long ago where someone else did not like the feel of the 11" in the front. Don't remember exactly. There are a few who road race with 11" all around. Maybe there are some extra adjustments needed.

Thanks guys!

Dad´s tires are cheap - Sumitomos, they came with the wheels (TT2s) from Tire Rack. Now I have 17 x 9´s in front and 11´s in rear with great tires - Goodyear low profile Eagle F1 GS-D3s. No complaints!

I have the same year Vette, a 93.

My vette rides better than his.

Just trying to help Pops get a better ride, ...that´s all.

If he's got the original shocks, replacing them might be a bigger benefit.

The wider wheels aren't going to make it sit higher. Using a larger overall diameter tire on them will.

I hope you have smooth roads there. 11 inches of rubber in the front is going to rut-track like a b****.

Wider fronts may make oversteer more likely than understeer. Understeer is more easily recovered from. IIRC that is why the fronts are more narrow on many base suspension models.

Thats what we do but only on the track. When it's time to take it out to the street to scrub in tires or whatever it will follow a rut pretty bad. Thats about all I can contribute. Good luck
