Does really listen to their radio?
My 84 has such a great sound with stock the mufflers - the Delco Bose works ok, but I don't think I'd upgrade since it's impossible to really enjoy the radio over the exhaust sound. Is there really a point to an upgraded sound system?

Yeah, cause sitting at traffic lights all the time SUCKS without some tunes. And I can't afford to keep blipping the throttle to entertain myself!

Does anyone really listen to their radio?
Don't get me wrong, it's not that I love the exhaust sound so much that I'd rather listen to it on a long trip than the radio, but I'd have to crank it up to 120 decibels to really hear the music.

I spent over $500 on a double din Pioneer dvd player for my 91 thinking It would be the greatest thing ever. I used it more a night light then a dvd player. I took it out and sold it about 6 months after I installed it because I never used it.
If I drove my vette every day or on long trips then it would have been nice. But the short tips I took on the weekends had no need for a radio not to mention a dvd player.
because my windows were not tinted I could never even see the screen in the day time, and at night I found it to be more distracting then useful.
BUT if it had GPS like the newer units I believe I would have used it alot more.

I always have the top down. It does not matter if it is a '95 or a '06, what you hear over the wind is not much different. I play CD's or tape. I never listen to the radio. I listened to it all the time when I had XM.

I listen mostly to talk radio so I can hear the rumble of the exhaust and the banter of talk radio at the same time with an average stereo. When you pull up next to me, though, I'd rather hear your exhaust than your radio.

Safety Car
All the time!
Top down, rain, snow, etc
I actually have playlists on my Ipod that have different driving music:
Vette (basic driving tunes I like to listen to)
Vette Top Down (top down music)
Vette Bad Weather (Mostly hard rock like metallica for those heavy storms)
Sometimes I just like to listen to the car's engine so I dont play any tunes, but whenever Im not listening to the engine Im listening to music.
I drive the Vette every day so....

I go back and forth. I put in a decent stereo and do listen to it from time to time. I find myself not listening when I go out for a weekend drive to enjoy the car and countryside. I usually listen when I drive for a purpose, like going to work or running errands.

Satellite radio anytime I don't have the iPod plugged in.
I never listen to the regular AM or FM bands though, because there isn't any stations around here that I like.
But I always have "Classic Rewind" tuned in on Sirius.

I got my 95 in october it came with a sony CD and 6.5 pioneers in the rear and 4 in. infinitys in the front. I am doing an install right now getting it back to the orginal Bose gold system. I will be putting all the above on the parts for sale section soon. It is not a Daley driver so I am getting it back to stock, don't really listen to the radio or anything else when driving the vette.

radio stopped working about 6 months ago. i figure i could pay money to fix it, or i could get some weight savings for free. cars a daily driver right now and i dont mind not having the radio, so in a few months when it becomes a strictly fun car, radio is getting pulled. a/c too, cause i never use that either
