I have an 84 and was challegened to a race today. All day drinking said no but the guy had a 450. How can I get my 84 to compete? What do I have to do to get 500+ horse power? Thanks!

Aahhhh....a well known formula, and an easy fix:

Horsepower increases with each additional beer.

When I frequented the local PYT (Pound Your Truck) mud pit. (Actually was one of the member back 40, still was a mud pit.) We called them Cans of Courage up here in WI. Saw one guy, brand new 4X4, get stuck and just hammered on it. Truck went no where but down. He had to crawl out the window. This was after a 6-pack of courage. Never did see how they got it out.

Good times, good times.

Put a big-assed shot of nitrous on it. It'll go like a **** until it blows up!
Horsepower costs money, how fast do you want to go?

Tell him you want to race him on a curvy road and you should have no problem beating him.

A 450 what? HP, CI, or maybe he meant a .45! lol

Buy a C6 Z or put an LS7 etc. in it, you have got a long road to hoe.

I believe i read in SUPER CHEVY this month that there is a twin turbo LS7 that puts out over 1000 horsepower, that oughta do it, only $40.000 go for it.

Default Darwin award

I remember a Darwin Award going out to some uhh. . . err... "genius" that straped a JATO pac from a C-130 (ballpark 40,000 ft lb thrust) onto the axe end of an old chevy, found a stretch of straight road and cooked it off. He went really really fast for a short period of time. Law enforcement didn't know what they had on their hands when they first approached the smokin' crater he left behind.

The only way to race him is in the brackets. You need a handicap to offset his power. Then it might be fair.

It's a great story but it's also just an urban legend. Never happened.

REAL horsepower is great add a 200 shot to it and it's even better

A 450 WTF is that ?? Forget chasing a horsepower number, you aren't going to race on a dyno I don't know much about the crossfire but other than the intake it's a 350 chevy. Build a 383 and find out what you need to do to get the crossfire intake to handle a built 383 and spray the **** out of it.
