I wonder if you can have the car taken to a reputable shop to see how much it would cost to repair or replace the hood, and have the paint work done. You could easily have 11 or 12k into the car, and you might be able to find one without the damage for that.
Make sure the rest of the car is alright, and start negotiating hard.
They are asking $7,500 and I am sure to repaint and by a new hood would be under $5,000. Dont you think? So is that what one with no damage sells for ? $11- $12?

Offer them 6k and start from there, if you can get them under 7k then its a smoking deal IMO...
Price will depend on condition, and what the buyer needs out of it. If you have the money, and you want the car, go for it. You wanted a vert anyway, right?
Can you drive it with the hood in it's current condition until you have the money to fix it?
I know there was some terrible spot paint work done on my car. Maybe the Ruby is hard to match. I am having the car repainted this winter. Sticking with Ruby, of course.
You may end up wanting to have the whole car shot again, so everything matches real nice. And if you can drive it around for awhile before you do the work, you can have a lot of fun with a semi-project car that you got for a great price.
Yes, I still want a vert for myself. But I am afraid my hubby has caught "corvette fever". Even looking at c3's. He wants a nice little project car that he can drive, fix up and maybe make a little on next summer.
I don't see how you could go wrong at that price if the damage is cosmetic. I for one have always thot they were beautiful cars. At that price I would probably buy, even tho I'm not shopping for one.

Guys uncle backed into it in the garage. Damaged to hood only. Guy is a mechanic so claims he has really maintained it immaculatly. Hubby is going to go see it tomorrow morning. Let you know!
GM made 6,749 40th vettes in 93. That's not really a low enough number to make them worth any more than any other vette. I might would add $300 over a regular vette. The "overall" condition is the key in pricing..IMO

If it looks like a bike hit it .... why do you think you need a new hood? It most likely can be repaired - nit replaced - you need some pics here to show us.
