Passenger Headlight only opens half way? 1994
As the title says, my passenger side headlight only opens half way! I replaced the 3 bushings in the motor, but it didn't help, I turn them on and the passenger headlight will open half way and stop. The motor will keep running for a few seconds and stop. Then when I turn them off the passenger headlight will try and close, but after a few jerky attempts it gives up and the motor stops, and the headlight stays in the half open/half closed position. When its in this position, there is no tension on the headlight assembly at all. I can easily open and close the haedlight by hand, but it won't stay in the open or closed position.
I read in the achrieves that it could be the "Headlight Control Module"? Is there a way to test this module? Or is my headlight motor shot?
Thanks, Zane

When mine did this, it was the shaft spinning freely in the metal part that holds the bushings. I simply tapped a hole in the metal piece and into the shaft and stuck a tension pin in there. Now this worked, but may have also led to my motor failing which has cost me a new control module too. What I ended up doing (before the motor/module died) was drill a hole in one of the bushings and then slid the bushing over the exposed tension pin. I think this ended up putting too much strain on the motor causing failure.
Bottom line, check to see if the shaft is spinning in the metal bushing holder.
