Wing or no wing? Opinions wanted
Like i mentioned in my previous post, I just purchased a 1992 vette today. It currently has a spoiler installed which to me looks like the one from the greenwood kit - although it's the only part of a greenwood kit that is installed.
Should I keep it or lose it?

i think your new purchase is stunning, its a piece of art, very tasteful.
but that wing........please do yourself a big favor and eliminate it -- that sort of thing is for kids and i suspect you'll find yourself growing out of it real fast.
it's going to cost some money however, you'll need to fill in the holes and have the rear bumper re-painted. you might be better off getting a used bumper from a salvage yard and having it prepped & painted to match, i'm not sure how repair to the holes left behind will hold up over time. have a trusted pro take care of it, so there's no worries.
those wings are really worthless, they add nothing, they cheapen and only make a classy car look tacky, and like i said kids usually go for that sort of stuff.
good luck, i hope you expend the energy to see it thru, and get rid of it

Keep it unless you absolutly hate it. Odds on somebdy tapping you in the rear ar fairly high. I would get it removed at that time. Its your car. I would live with it as hey its your car do what you want. Nice looking ride BTW. GC

I'm new at this myself..and I have to agree with the others...I passed up a few really nice rides because they just looked tacky with a wing...and a good after market rear, painted to match is the way to go..My neighbor two doors down has a 81 that had a wing on it, he had it taken off and the holes filled and painted..you can see right where it was...so yeah loose the wing...you'll thank yourself later

If you have to ask if you should keep the wing or loose it.........
Then you might as well keep the ugly, low class thing on your car.
Thats right, on your car...........don't even call it a corvette.
Wait a minute, your car is a corvette.
Do it a favor and loose the wing.

Nice ride... except for the wing.
I would loose it.
Do what you think works, if you like it then enjoy but I think the consensus will be to put it back to original.
The C4 looks great the way it came from BG.
Just my thought but have fun with your new Vette!

I would vote lose it, BUT.
If you're going to enter shows and get judged by the local Moose Lodge (I'm serious) you may want to keep it. The wing will be cool to civillians and you may walk away with some awards because of it.
I'm not being sarcastic at all, I've seen it happen. Just another approach.

I always thought they were like ladies with multiple tatoos. Much as I hate to say it, it really doesn't look that bad on the car, and they are almost impossible to cover up permanately. Congrats on the new car!

Safety Car
My advice would be to not do anything to the car but drive for the first few months. Get to know the car, figure out what you like and don't like. I would never add a wing to my car, but what we (the forum) think dosn't mean s**t. It's what you think.
Good luck

The nice thing I like most of all about any car, truck, hot rod, bike, whatever, is that I can change, customize, or whatever, any thing I want to make the car my own. To make me feel good, not any one else. Do to your Vette what you want. What feels good to you. I don't mean to have an attitude about it, but if you have a question, don't do it. The Wing does not help rear end down force, it actually hampers it. The C4 was designed to have the rite amount of down force for its design. the wing is only for looks

Greenwood spoiler.
Man, This is almost like a wave thread, It has been here many times before. Now, my opinion. I have the full greenwood kit on my 90 coupe and it looks great. It was on the car when I bought it. I would never have spent the money to put one on if it was not on the car, as they are very expensive. Corvettes are gorgeous cars as is without spoilers on them but you guys get all uptight about them. They look good with them or without them. If I ever figure out how to post pictures " I did before but I forgot how" I will post pictures of my car with a full kit. Thanks, Allentown Ernie.
