Default L-98 Hood Decals...

Im thinking about putting the Metallic Silver Long Hood Decals on my black 85 (I already have the Metallic Silver Grand Sport Fender Hash...I think the combination of these two will look sweet). Has anyone put these on before? Are they easy to line up and install? Does anyone have pictures of them on a black C4? Also, which do you think would look better...the word Corvette, or L-98? Thanks, Zak.

Heres a link to the decal if you dont know what Im talking about...

I haven't seen those. If you get them on straight they will look nice, good luck. Post pics if you do.

I actually purchased a set of the Gold stripes this week for my Polo Green Vert. I got the set that have the word "Corvette" rather than the "L98" set. Post some pics if you will when you get them installed and let us know if you had any problems or can offer any pointers. It will be next week before I can do mine.

go with the "L-98" ones. It already says corvette on your rear bumper cover.

I have thought about the "L-98" ones myself but have not seen them on any Vette yet. Even though the decal description states "easy to apply" I would like some first hand information. If anyone has pictures of these I would like to see them too.

Well Ive seen these on C5's and C6's, but never on a C4. I dont know how hard these will be to put on, but I doubt they will be very difficult. I installed the Silver GS Fender Hash from Ecklers and it was really easy. If I end up getting these, I will definitely post pictures of them. Zak.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Plus, everyone knows its a Corvette...not everyone knows its an L-98.

I see the Eckler's link shows they are out of stock. You might want to check these that a guy in our club purchased for ~ $5 less

Normally, I hate stuff like this but I have to say they look good.
The ideal stripes wouldn't say anything IMHO.

I'm pretty sure you can get them. I have a white/red and was thinking of getting solid red stripes for the hood. For $25, if I don't like them, not a big deal.

I got my Gold one's last week from Ecklers, but they are the ones that say "Corvette". I just didn't think that the L98 isn't that much to brag about anymore, but I doubt that the lay person would know that. I just liked the way that the "Corvette" decal looked better myself, but they both look good to me - just had to make a choice. To each his own. I tried to put a set on my car about a year ago and screwed them up trying to get them to stay in the right place before the water dried. I think that I ended up putting too much water on them. I will try it again next week when I get the car back from the shop. I will post the pics when I am done.....

I have the LT1 decals. Very easy to apply, just take your time.

I prefered the "Corvette' one. No matter which one you pick it breaks up the massive hood.

Hey, that looks like my car!

I have a white/red 87. If I did the stripes, I'd get red. But I do have a question, after sitting in the sun, are the stripes cooked on? Can the be removed? Do they mark the paint?

Your car looks great.

Dale, they are like any pin-strip install, you can go to any autobody supply and get the supplies to remove.

Just applied the Gold Hood Decals today on my Polo Green Vert. I opted for the "Corvette" decals rather than the "L 98". Here are a few pics:

Those really look great especially with the saddle interior and ?gold? emblems on the hood. Wait until you get the top down and I bet they'll blend perfectly
Was the installation to get them evenly spaced difficult?

ZRWON - Thanks for the compliment. The installation was not terribly difficult, but it wasn't without it's aggravation. Make sure that you have a razor blade handy and be patient waiting on the top film to pull away from the decal after application. And I chose the gold decals because I thought that it would blend with the saddle interior & soft top as well as the Gold Emblems.
