Anyone replaced a CD/Radio/Cassette player in a C4(94)? Think the car has a Bose system. One radio shop said entire car/speakers need rewiring. They said depends on brand of unit. What did project cost?
This question comes up regularly, so do a search and you will have several days reading. Another alternative that isn't mentioned that often is to have the factory unit refurbed. I have had a couple of units redone, and they worked real well, while maintaining the original equipment, if that is important to you.

First, you need to go to the audio section of the forum and read the C4 sticky:
When I installed the radio, I also removed all of the Bose stuff and installed new Infinity speakers. Read the sticky, and if you have any questions, just let me know.
I have a 90 and replaced mine this summer. I am not a teckie so I had best buy do the complete job. a little over 600.00. but, I sold my radio and tunner to dr dons. they gave me 160.00 for both. helped to defray the cost.

How much of that $600 was labor? If anyone wants to bring there car over I'll do the install for some pizza and a coke. It really wasn't that hard. And only $160? Was it in real bad shape? I got $650+ for my complete working bose system on ebay.

nothing worked . labor was a high percentage, but it was done correcly and it includes a high end systemthat works great.
I did install a basic CD/radio in my 79 wired, speakers etc.. This I'm told is a bit more of a project. I might try it myself. Just want a working CD/Radio unit. Called a few sound shops they said costly to install new unit because entire system has to be pulled out, everything! I'll check out the system as soon as I get my hands on the car. I'll get back to you on your offers as soon as I know what I'm dealing with. Thanks for the information.
