You can always go UP. The worst feeling is to have him accept your first offer, he might have went lower?

I think you found a great starting point. 12K Haggle a bit and maybe raise your offer $1000.00 if he still won't deal, walk away. They will usually call you within a week. If not, go back and haggle again. I would not go over 15K Take your time and don't be afraid to walk away after each offer($500.00 increments). Time is on your side especially this time of year. Good luck. Also keep in ind these cars were mass produced. There were twice as many ruby's made in 93 by than any other color. These are not rare so that should not even be a factor. .02 deposited.

93 production
ruby 6749 (with 2179 of those being converts)
torch red 3172
white 3031
black 2684
polo 2189
aqua 1305
black rose 935
quasar blue 683
competition yellow 517
Dark metallic red 325

You cannot dispute the facts, BUT, Sometimes rare means NOBODY wanted it when it was new. The number of Ruby's made also reflects the idea that Ruby's are the most popular color combo, more people wanted one?
I have read that some California C3's came with 305's, Rare for a Vette, BUT, who wants one?

I think Ruby's will always sell. It's a great color that even today, 15 years later, still draws attention.

$9K, that's considerably less than I would have thought, but I would rather start low so maybe so. Can I ask your reasoning for that number?

I traded my ruby in November for a 2007.
It had 40k miles, Vert with optional hardtop.
Dealer is asking $18,900.

I think the $12,000 to $15,000 would be right in the ballpark.
As a owner of a Ruby for over 12 years i would like to say it is worth
a lot more, but for now not so. Hope value goes up in near future.
Good luck in your choice.

Default Value?????

Take a car and an option (colour)that were extremely popular. over 6,000 sold!!!!!

15 years later take all the guys who loved it but couldn't afford it back then. Now they can
They've looked at dozens of dogs. They are discouraged.

Give them the chance to buy one showroom (new)again super low miles.

Some will sell for big bucks, but most buyers won't talk about it.

MY .02 WORTH
Just confirmed 93 ruby roadster,5k sold for $35,000 WOOOW!!

Make sure its a real ruby. Not all 93's are anniversary cars. 93 rubys are all over the price scale. from 14K to 23k

What you have described sounds like a 14.5
