Default positraction/ limited slip?

Hello and ya I already searched positraction, so calm down. I have a slightly different question? I have a 1990 c4 but in the list of rpo codes it does not have G80 which is the posi rpo code? I have heard all vettes have posi, is this true? I also have code G87 which means 8.5inch, ring gear I assume and which axle is that the 36 or the 44? It also has code GT7 which is 3.33 gear ratio call me inexperienced but I haven’t heard of that before, anyway I’m going to change oil in the diff so does anybody know the viscosity and how much of it is required? Oh and what do you recommend for the posi additive? I’m going to use royal purple for the rest of the fluid. Thanks in advance sincerely 396chevy

I think all 'vettes from '70-up had posi as standard. I know all C4's are. I suspect your car is a stick shift, so it has a Dana 44 differential with the 8.5" ring gear. The 3.33 ratio was the standard for manual trans. They also had a 3.45 that year but it was listed for the ZR-1. I don't know if that was also used as the "high performance" option, G92 for manuals. I'd get the posi add from GM. Last I got didn't cost enough to worry about. Book says GL-5 gear lube, 80W-90, 3.75 pints. but the 'vette racers back in "the day" used synthetic. The differential info is etched on the flat part of the case bottom. Hope it helps.

Go Here: I used 2 cans of slip differential fluid (8 oz)and Amsoil to fill it up the rest of the way. I have an 87 and it was 1/2 full and black.

Change all the fluids.....brake, PS, antifreeze, oil
