Any one with extreme low milage, garage queens out there?
Just want to see if there are others on this forum that have a very low mileage C4 in the garage. Dont jump all over me about driving them, I have a couple vettes so I like to show em and drive em. I have a 1986 Indy Pace Car convertible with 8300 original miles. Its dark red met, with the black top and 4+3 trans. The only thing I have changed is the tires, they were hard as stone, like driving on ice. So Im just looking to see how many of you are out there. I dont want this to turn into a bashing thread on driving them vs. storing them!

OK I'll play along... I expect 'flaming' on this thread but for the record, I have a 1995 Trans Am Firehawk as my other 'weekend warrior', a Ford Fusion and Ford Edge in addition to my Vette. The two Ford's are Daily Drivers; hence, one reason for the low low miles. 7,711miles on the Vette as of 5/25/08.

I have two!
87 Coupe 18k 89 Vert 17k both rec'd NCRS top flights last fall.
Funny.... yesterday's project was rolling them out washing and waxing them then rolling them back in!
But we did take the coupe out for dinner and drive last night. The best part is since they are used so seldom its like having new cars. We will get bashed but what the heck its a hobby! some people collect art, some people buy stocks, I can touch and feel my investments! and if i keep them in good repair, they will be in demand in 5 to 15 years!

Garage toy
I have an 1987 convertible I bought new and it has 11,000 miles, that's not bad for 21 years. I have a 1959 TR3A, 49 years with 26,000 miles. There are other things in life besides driving sports cars; like boats, fishing, hunting, vacationing in the Caribbean. Vett's are only one small part of living the dream! Drive them when you can; garage toys will always be there when you want them but there is more to life.

Burning Brakes
'96 Convertible-bought a year and a half ago with 7500 miles from the original owner, now at about 10,500, still mint condition, it doesn't have enough space in the back to be a trip car!!

Ive got a close friend that bought an 86 Pace Car new, same colors as yours.Car sits in the garage.I dont know what constitutes a garage queen,Ive got a 91 ZR-1 with 8200 miles on the clock.I drive it whenever I feel the itch but it does sleep in the garage, never outside overnight and will never see rain.

Low Mileage LT4
Bought my yellow LT4 vert 3 years ago with 3,089 miles. I've added about 7,000 miles since then!

Yes there is more THINGS to life BUT you gotta have the bucks to enjoy them.
I think I speak for many average Corvette owners when I say it is my only toy.

Drifting
My 1988 corvette has 110,000 miles on it.
That is very low miles for a car 20 years old. I drive it enough to enjoy it.
I plan on wearing it out before I get rid of it.
I always enjoyed driving my corvette more than polishing it.

I've got a 92 Polo Green 6 spd. with black cloth interior model with 12424 miles on it. Bought the car new back in Oct. 91.
Switched out the original tires and wheels last year so I would not be scared to drive it on the original tires.
