C4 owners in Tampa?
Hi everyone,
Are there any C4 owners here located in Tampa, FL?
Me and my gf will go back to Tampa for vacation this year again, just like last summer. I just thought it would be neat for a guy from Sweden to meet some C4 owners and see their cars just to see how your cars look "over there" and to meet some new nice people (we love america!). If anyone is interested, that is?

I'm across the bay in Clearwater. Would love to have an international corvette meet up while you are in town. You'll just miss a local autocross on Sep 15 down in St. Petersburg.
Sep. 1st is the Annual Corvettes at the Pier show in St Petersburg. It's a small show, but a fun group. I'm planning on attending the show, and will enter my vette if I can get it wrapped in vinyl before registration ends.

WOW! How cool is that? The pier show definately sounds like something. St Pete isn´t far away, we will pass it almost everyday since my girlfriend has one demand, Clearwater beach!
Thank you very much for that tip, i whink i will pm you about some details. Would be something to write about for the Club Corvette Sweden
But yeah, a small international meeting one of the days in the Tampa area would be alot of fun. As you probably already assume, i will participate in a rental car not being a Corvette.... However i can atleast bring a laptop with pictures of mine

I attended the (I believe) 18th Annual Corvette's @ The Pier show and it was a great experience. A WIDE variety of Corvettes from all generations. Wish I could go again but I now live in Colorado and soon moving to Ohio

Sounds good. This will be the LAST Corvettes on the Pier event as the Pier will close on May 31, 2013 and be demolished soon there after for a new non-car friendly pier.

Wow I was hoping this wouldn't really happen! I was born in St. Petersburg and the pier is one of the few things I remember being that young and watching the firework shows!

Yeah a lot of people didn't want it to happen, but St Pete can't afford to keep it. It's now beyond any kind of affordable repair. The "Lens" Pier has a $50m budget. Just rebuilding the road leading up to the building would eat up the $50m. The building itself would probably be double that. Seems on the extreme side to me, but I like the new structure. The old pier now looks very dated and out of place. I think the lens should be timeless, but they haven't mentioned if it'll last as long or longer than The Pier.

It's looking like I won't be able to make it. We had to move an event date for work from later in the month in September to the 1st of September. So, I'll most likely be in Orlando that weekend.
