Headlight Conversion question
alright guys i'm sure scorp or bogus will chime in soon on this one but if you know the answer to this do post.
the corvette forum sells the conversion but comes bundled with the bulbs...... i want to buy my own bulbs and don't want to buy the bulbs that come with the hellas i want just the housings. is there just the housings somewhere or am i forced to buy the bundle??

thanks springer but they say not DOT approved for street use on that site so i can't use those, they sell these on ecklers for 54.99 each but thats expensive when compared to the corvette mall price and ecklers will make me pay out the nose for shipping. i'll give my local auto shop a ring aswell they do give me 30% off and i'm sure the garage mechanic next door gets a better deal than i do on them but i'll see.

I picked them up from my local parts store I deal with. Hella #72207 conversion kit for $37 each they come with bulbs but arn't too bright like the stockers,so I got Hella bulbs #78159 100W/80W 6.60ea.

Try APC diamond cut housings from http://www.jegs.com if you want to be different.

you are in Canada, eh? then you don't need to worry about the DOT issues...
I got the Hella kit... with the H2B bulb that is included... MUCH brighter and whiter than the old sealed beams....
The APC bulbs are supposed to be real good... I don't know about the ones Kore recommends.

and i'm not too sure about the DOT issues but you say i should be fine right? but ya never know if i wanna take the vette down stateside once inawhile i am sure i would need dot sae no? or since i'm a canuck they'll say, "don't worry pardner" :lol:
alright well i'm gonna do some price comparing on the apc and the hella
i just want the info on the housings really like you and scorp use hella so i assumed hella is best with the CF gang but kore likes apc too right? and the bulbs i haven't decided but my buddy told me the hella bulbs aren't as great as these other ones i forgot the brand i know i can get the bulbs for cheap here. anyhoo thanks andy for clearing some more stuff up.
