Default My opportunity to buy a 1995

I am considering purchacing a '95 w/ 73k mileage, Polo Green, Auto with tan leather interior. The deal appears to be too good to look the other way. Are there any "Red Flags" that I should be on the look out for before making a decision?

There's a "Buyers Checklist" on this forum. Do a search, print it out and bring it with you when you go to look at the car.

How much is the seller asking?

I bought a '95 with 110k on it and after changing a few things...that car runs sooooooooooo good. Hopefully the car was taken care with regular Mobil 1 oil changes and normal items like that. If it was, get it and enjoy it. Well as much as you can seeing that it's an auto...

Contact a local vette club and ask a member with C-4 experience to go with you to check it out. You might get several members that'll tag along.

I am considering the very same vehicle--95, polo green coupe with tan leather, only it has 80K. Very interested in hearing about it if you pull the trigger.

Its a stunning color combination, you will love the deep shine when you polish it, if everything checks out scoop that baby up!

The nice thing about the 95 is that it has the updated Opti and also has a flashable PCM so you can do your own tuning with a laptop and not have to swap out chips.

I absolutely love my 95.

Assuming it hasn't been in a flood, salvaged or just beat to death, with that milage, sounds like a really good deal. Good luck.

Default 95 0wner

TOM, as the owner of a 95 coupe, would you elaborate more on the tuning with a laptop? Where can I find out more about this?

Sure. I use http://tunercat.com/ and the $EE definition file from them. I also use one of these http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd2u

I've played around with it a little but not extensively. It was nice to be able to disable the CAGS skip shift through the computer instead of manually adding something to my transmission.

The one thing I couldn't get it to do even though the option is there is to disable the traction control. Even though it said it was disabled it wasn't. I may have to post that in the tuner forum.

Anyways if you go this way, make a back up of your stock definition file right away so that if you screw up bad you can always fix it easily.

I hope this helps.

I know times are tough right now, but $6k seems ridiculously cheap. I would DEFINIETLY carfax it. Makes me feel sick for what I paid for my 94 last december with similar miles, also a PGM/auto.

These are the tables you can make adjusments to in the 95 PCM.

I have the A4 transmission. Here's the shift points table.

Here's what Datamaster TTS looks like. (Real time diagnostics data)
