About 9 months ago i had some black zo6 rims put on my 86 vette... then about 6 months ago i had my car painted, and ever since then the rims just dont shine the way they used to... i dont know what it is, if they got something on the rims, or they accidently took something off of them... it seems to me like they might of hit them while sandblasting the old paint off, but i honestly dont know??? the paint ppl arent helping me with them, and ive been trying everything to get them off... so any help on how i could get my rims back to there previous shine would be great...
Well do i just use that, or should i put some type of cleaner on it... the guy at the paint shop told me to try a rubbing compoud on the wheels, and he said that it might help... he seemed to know what was going on, unlike everyone else there, but im still a little leary about take any of their advice... i dont wanna make it worse... i cant afford new rims...
So should i try the rubbing compound???
Just the power ball???
Or a combination of the two???
You should be able to get it wherever they sell the product line.
I purchase the #3 by the gallon however a small bottle will be enough for your wheel job. A small bottle is normally enough product to detail all the paint on two vehicles.
I like the NXT liquid wax better than the spray bottle.
I'll bet its just paint overspray and its a pain to get off. what I do after I paint a car and i get overspray on the wheels is get a clean towel and spray rake clean on it and wipe it down but also get a bucket of water and keep rinsing them off so you don't hurt the clearcoat. Just be careful
over spray, or some one maybe switched rims on ya, who knows, I have seen, and heard a lot of things. More likely the sprayer was doing a crap job of prep.
