Door ajar light on -- Can you help?
Thanks for your assistance and time. I have an '88 C4 coupe, and the door ajar light flickers on and off with the door shut. When I open the door (driver's), the light goes off. Any ideas on how I might troubleshoot? repair? Thanks! Happy New Year!

door
first thing is spray some pb blaster in the switches[push them in as you spray] and see if that solves the problem, most of the time it does. if not you might have to glue a penny or something similar where the switch hits so it will close all the way lot of guys have done this to solve problem.

Duct tape a couple of pennies in the door jam area to allow the switch to make contact. Its a $25 replacement switch. The two bolts that secure the switch to the door screw into a metal backing plate. You will need to remove the door panel to get to the switch. If you try to pull the switch through the door you might be able to unclip the door switch clip harness but the backing plate probably will drop inside the door. Good luck

Question about switch location
I'm totally new to the Corvette. Can you tell me where the switch/contact is located? Is it on the door where the latch is, or in the door well where the hinges are? I'll try the pennies! Thanks!

I had the same problem with my 92, except it would set off the car alarm when it flickered!
Good luck on the fix, they are not too bad to change out if you need to.

By chance did you have your hatch open? Mine interior lights stayed on after the bracket that holds the plunger bent.
