Different days, different tracks, different elevations, different examples of a certain model and different drivers. Unlike someone sitting at a bar or on their front porch, national mags are obligated to report the actual results, not what they expected. I recall seeing both of these numbers when they came out, along with several 13.6s for the C4 ZR-1, very disappointing. There has certainly been talk that the power outputs of the LT5 were inconsistent and also strangely enough, it seems the fastest mag times were from the initial "375 HP" ZR-1s rather than the later 405 HP models. Maybe some of those were ringers? Who knows.

The mags rarely get the fastest time a car can run.

Default These times are off the wall wrong

it shows the 1987 IrocZ 5.7 l98 is slower than 5.0 engine .
it also shows 1989 IrocZ being the slowest when it was the 2nd fastest year of irocz
then on the mustang 5.0 it shows the 1992 being the fastest between 1987 -1993 (the fox body type )when in fact that year the 5.0 engine dropped 25 hp and 25 lbs of torque. It's wrong all over the place.

Can't believe that I missed seeing this post!! That's a very thorough list and most times that I saw on the cars I cared about were about what I remember.
