why do 2 strokes of years gone by, make good power with premix?
yet, some seem to think, oil in the cumbustion chambers of 4 stroker, degrade the octane on the fuel, is this full of 
will trapping the oil out of the pcv stream raise octane and subseqeuntly, allow for more SA?

whole different design man, the oil doesn't really make the power. the number of power strokes do.
extra oil in the intake tract means higher emissions, and more carbon buildup. add some oil to your gas and see the result.... (don't really do that)

From my understanding of kart engines the oil added to the gas is to lubricate
the pistons and cylinders as there is no oil circulation to the air cooled cylinder holders.

that's the only reason oil is in the gas-the crankase of a 2 cycle is actually the intake manifold and the incoming blast of fuel/oil is used for lube to the crank and rod bearings as well as the cylinder walls.
like merlot566jka sez, the power advantage is every downstroke is a power stroke unlike a 4 stroke that gives a power stroke to every other downstroke.
