I try to always wave to any other Corvette I see while driving in mine. Even while I'm on my cell phone, shifting gears, have a lollipop (rootbeer or watermelon dum-dum) and lighting my stogie (and I'll tell ya it takes a few tries to get it lit while driving that fast with the windows down and top off). Okay, just kidding about the stogie I could never smoke in the car, but, sometimes I even forget I'm in my Silverado (or one of the firetrucks) and wave out of habit and then people look at me funny . I don't get it.
As for the young people and their "trash" talk of corvettes. Let all just remember what it was like to be 18 years old and know everything about everything (only to find out later, gee should have just shut up). 'nuff said.
Anyways the way I see it I wave so much sometimes my wife says that I'm a fool who looks like Forest Gump . She's mean.....j/k. Look for those who wave let's wave back. For those who don't, It's their loss.
Time to pass the soap box to the next willing individual.
Most older Vette drivers of older Vettes know the Heritage behind the car.
A lot of younger, richer, preppy types run out and buy a NEWER Vette not knowing anything about it's history. Just because they look cool or rich or fast.
I call those kind a people RUB's or corvette queers.
Most new vette owners are not like that. Most are cool people who can afford a nicer vette than most of us here.
Good way to spot a RUB or corvette queer is to go to a car show which features Classic and antique cars. They will have their brand new vette at a car show.

ALMOST PERFECT !!!!!
Don't limit it to a brand new ones though there are pletny of C5 owners making the local car show look like a used car lot too.

Its all pretty easy to figure out. Not everyone driving a Corvette is a Corvette enthuiest. Some are just passing through. They wanted the Corvette for speed, looks, and what fit their budget. They dont know nor do they care about Corvette history, tradition or anything else Corvette related. In a year or two they will be behind the wheel of a Audi or other high class import. Those with a smaller budget (probably driving C5s now will turn to used inifinity sedans or some other sporty car built in Japan. The rest of us will have to grin and bare it for now and do our part to save the wave.
and the guy with a ZR-1 posts he doesn't wave either and wants to give the finger to those who do wave
Actually, I mostly wave. I don't knock myself out to do it. People wave back, or they don't. It's only when I read threads like these, bitching about how someone didn't wave, that I want to start flipping the bird.
