Default bread box.

You will love the flat panel. So much easier to work on components that are normally behind BB. Gettin the BB off is challenging. But well worth doing.

I bought the rosewood laminate from Mid america and it came with the flat panel.

During the removal of the bread box, some hacking of the bread box assembly may be required.

After searching the forum, I see that someone was making a carbon fiber kit for this. I hope it's still available!

I cut one from some sheet ABS and painted it with the same SEM trim paint, that I used on the rest of the dash. I like it better than the carbon fibre one and the wood grain one before that.

I agree with Corvette Mike; the wood kit from Mid-America looks spectacular and comes with a flat panel to replace the bread box.
Look at kool88vette and you will see just how it looks. Really changes the look and feel of the car.

When I bought my 87 it had the wood dash kit but it was cracked and in bad shape so I used the pieces warped them in a high grade vinyl and reinstalled. I never liked the way the bread box looked makes the inside look smaller

There was some pading on the back of material but yes just wraped. Took a while to do all the cut outs. I didn't want to buy new wood and the orginal parts were bad because of the wood being on them so it was a way to do the project for very little money about $20.00

I helped design the Carbon Fiber one with Supporting vendor Flasunshine. He should be on my friends list on my profile. He did my entire interior. I need to send a few more pieces to him but I have been low on $$$.

His BB eliminator is GOOD. Not the cheap piece of **** I had before from midamerica.....
