Default Car inspection in San Diego, CA

Hello,

Who should I call for a C4 inspection in San Diego?

I live in Miami and want to drive the car back home from San Diego.

I want to have it inspected. And I will test drive it personally after inspection and negotiation.

It has 38,000 miles worried about it sitting for too long with ethanol fuel corroding the fuel system. 27,000 of those miles were put on by 2012.

Thanks

Frank

In my 93 FSM, it states that my car is ethanol prepped. What year? I guess is most would reply that if you like it, get it hauled home and deal with the needed repairs and updates then. Have AAA and a hauler lined up to back you up. 3K miles is a very long test drive for a 25+ year old car. Sit back and let that sink in. Not trying to be mean, but just answering the question how it seems.

I want to drive cross country in C4. Something I have to do. Will a higher mileage be better for this?

This guy recently went cross country twice in a C4.

Are you looking for a good mechanic or a state inspector?

A mechanic that can do a pre-purchase inspection. And any repairs so I can drive it across the county from San Diego to Florida.

Crossing the country in a C4 is something I must do. I'm looking for someone around San Diego to do a pre-purchase inspection. I'll make the necessary repairs before driving from coast to coast.

This guy did it, covered way more miles.

Would a higher mileage C4, like a daily driver work better for this endeavor?

Just so you know, it makes a big difference in whether you should be worried about type of gas in it or not

Im an hour or so from SD....need about 2 weeks before I could head out....another option is posting in the SoCal section, few vette specialist shops out that way.which is your best bet
..Got a spot in case you decided not to go the distance, make a good test drive for you anyways
Our gas is similar to most states, not pure ethanol just has some in it.

Possibly find a MOBILE Mechanic in SD and see if they could do an onsight inspection and test drive in agreement with the seller.

Check the mechanics history, reliability and ratings and tell the mechanic YOU get the results of the inspection NOT the seller. Afterall you're the one

paying for the inspection. Just a thought.

I personally like daily driver cars vs garage queens when it comes to dependability.
