what kind of oil do you use?
just curious to see what everyone uses in their Vette. I wonder if I shoud switch to a synthetic. Any advantages? The car is not a daily driver. But someone told me not to use a synth on an older car 'cuz it might make the seals begin to leak (the engine is really dry right now). Any truth to that claim?

Once again.. Mobil 1 synthetic. It's factory fill and the only thing that should be used in MHO
edit: ok, NOT factory fill on your car, but on the LT-1's and newer vettes it is and I still think it should be used.

hi,switched over to valvoline full synthetic 10-30 and iam very happy with it.i noticed that my oil temp.fell down by 10 degrees which is a big plus. good luck greg84

Mobile 1 in my 94 and 10-30 Valvoline in my 86.
Never any Penzoil or 10-40 ever, never ever, ever!
It seems like every really cruddy engine I have ever had the misfortune to work on was a 10-40 or Penzoil user (there have probably been hundreds of engines in the last 30 years).

I religiously use MOBIL(No "E" SCORP :D) 1. I switched to 5W30 this winter, figuring it was going to sit...but luckily it's been VERY mild. Typically I run 10W30 full synthetic. No complaints.

I use Amsoil Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil. Its better then Mobil 1 check it out.

I use Amsoil series 2000 0W-30. I have changed from dino to syn oil in three high mileage cars and have had no seal leak problems.

When I first got the vette, it had Pennzoil in it. I switched over to Mobil 1 synthetic (just like the factory) and not too long after that my intake started leaking :mad (makes ya wonder why the previous owners were running non-synthetic huh?). I run nothing but Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30.

Mobil 1 but its $25.00 for 5 quarts for a oil change plus filter.
I run it passed 3k though. And it comes out looking like new.
In my L-98 I used striaght 30wt. The LT-1 has had Mobil 1 since it was new.

Mobil 1 10w30 here. Don't know what was in it before I got it, but since switching the gas mileage has gone up so my guess would be it was running dino before.
No leak problems at 123K miles. This is all its getting from now on.
