Ferrari
Anyone ever driven one? We are in Vegas for the week and I have seen 2 different red verts on the road.
I sat in one at a dealer in San Antonio once.
They sure sound nice when they get the rpms singing.
I toyed with the idea to get a 308 GTS magnum pi type of vintage ferrari..or maybe even a 328, but you still need $20-$30k to get one. They are pretty slow by modern standards- About the same as an LT1 automatic on the tall gears on their best day.

I was out there in Sept. You can rent one but plan on paying $1K or more for the day. We were supposed to rent a c6 while we were there but some drunk dumba$$ wrapped it around a pole the week before we arrived, so we got a free upgrade to a Merc SL 550...nice but not a Vette.
On the 308 note, I have toyed with that idea as well but the 15K mile major service to the tune of $3-$5k kinda keeps me away.
If you do decide to try it out may I recommend Diplomat Rental.
I also went to the dealer at the Wynn, worth the 10 bucks. But I I have always loved the Ferraris too......
I've always wanted one but the service schedule scares me to death. If I could do it myself, I'd buy one just to play with it and then sell it when I'm done.

Exactly. Would love to have one but with the service requirements even a "cheap" Ferrari is an expensive one.

Actually, I don't agree. If you do the service to a Ferrari then do not ever expect to sell it. Ferrari owners EXPECT to see Ferrari service before buying.

I don't think you understood what I meant at all. I never said anything about selling one. I meant that even if you do buy a "cheaper" Ferrari, once you factor in the cost of maintenance and keeping it on the road, it is still a very $$$ car to own.

You never drove my 95 auto, it is anything but slow!!
I will have one regardless of maintenance costs someday. I love this car. I figure every 15k miles is about 3-5 years of driving with this type of car so the maintenance is not too bad per year. Worth it to me.
308, 328 are slow cars, look good but slow. Unless you are going to drop $60K on a Testarossa or $80k+ on a 355/360/430 you are wasting your time. A C4 can run circles around the late 70s and early 80s Ferrari's.
No thanks, 20 k in to a c4 and the c4 will destroy any stock Ferraro
Are you freaking NUTS!!!
I drove my brothers F550 and it puts any vette to shame[except new ZR1], it does 200+ and corners on a dime and that is a 2000.
You just pay and pay with them, wish I could afford the insurance, let alone the service.
