I have the Hella e-code headlamp housing using the Osram 85/80 H4 bulbs.

The Osram H4 bulbs just went out after a little over a year. I replaced the Osram H4 bulbs with the 60/55 Sylvania Silverstar Ultra HB2/H4 bulbs which seem good so, far. I realize the high performance bulbs don't last as long as the regular bulbs (it even says so, on the Sylvania package) but, my question is, What brand of HB2/H4 (same type of bulbs) are you using for a daily driven Vette and how long have the bulbs lasted?

Please note I'm referring to the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra HB2/H4 "Halogen Bulbs" and not the Sylvania SilverStar "Stock Replacement Headlamps".

I am using the sylvania silverstar h4 right now, lately i have been feeling like they are not nearly as bright as a month or two ago. I really dont think they are that old either. Been contemplating HIDs, but dont know yet, so i am all ears on this thread

I've had my silverstar h4's for over 3 years. No problems. Great, now one will probably go out this weekend.

It seems that two years is about the normal life expectancy of the high performance H4/HB2 bulbs.

I'm wondering how long the HID Bulbs and Ballasts will last?
