Default Window tinting question

Is this a good price for full window tint job on an 87 Corvette
$210 with a lifetime warranty
Also, should I go with 50% or 35% on the sides? I'm DEFINETELY going with 20% on the rear, but I just don't know what to get on the sides. There's some laws regarding window tinting here in California, but I think I can get a doctors note to say I need tinting, and they'll allow for down to 35%. So...

CA = Front doors.....70%(only clear films) Back window.....................Any

I would say 210 was steep...150 bucks "Tops" The tint only cost the guy about 20 bucks. Labor and overhead shouldn't be 190 bucks

that price sounds about right, here in wichita falls, tx that cars goes for 125 believe it or not, WHOLE lot of competition here, other parts of the country it can go as high as 300, tintlaws in cali are 70% on the front and anything on the back :) heck if you can get a waiver for a medical condition do it, 70% and 50% are basicly clear, 35% helps some as long as you get a metalized film or sputtered film, but if the shop told you lifetime warranty thats probably going to be the good stuff, just make sure it`s a "high performance film" and it will last for years the plastic dyed film sucks and truns purple in 6 months, bable, bable, bable :D i am a tinter so i can geo long winded on this subject. :D

I paid 225 for mine. Got 13% on back and 32% on sides. I would say definatly go with 35% on the sides. It is still noticable but isnt enough to get you pulled over. I think it looks really good. I was tempted to go with 5% on back and 13% on sides. I wish now I would have gone darker.

Tim-

trust me on this. Pay the extra and get the warrantied work. I paid $250 about 20 months ago to get my car done. DARK in the back, and light on the sides (50%). I did get the lifetime warranty, which I had to use a week ago for some tint that came loose on the side windows. They completely retinted the entire car, and even went to 35% on the sides FREE of CHARGE! They did a great job and were totally cool about it. I used Quality Window Tinting in Santa Clara off of El Camino Real. Good luck!

A Vette is the kinda car you want people to see you in. So, I'd go light on the tint. But that's just me. :)

250 bucks for tint???

Unless they have to strip the old tint off... thats crazy. I paid 160 for mine, 5% on everything, one sheet of tint on the rear window and life time warrenty!

guys, guys, remeber he is in california where as we all know EVERYthing is more expensive,...........

In a lot of cases the tint guys have to follow what the laws states. $210 is not bad with a lifetime warranty if he does it all (one peice) especially on the back window. As you're crusing down McHenery check out all those (lowriders) & see what their tint looks like & if the install guy can go darker on the sides go with it. By the way......the tint shop on Mchenry or Coffee is installing 43% if I'm not mistaking.

I've got 35% on both sides and the back. I'm close to pulling it off and putting on a much darker film.

I can get mine done for $120 or less. :yesnod: Of course it helps that the installer is a friend. :D

Hmmm, I've been thinking about tinting my windows for a while now. was going to do 20 percent on the back and 35 on the sides, but after reading this I will probably go with 5% on the back and 30% or so on the sides.
