Default Front shock bolt removal?

I'm replacing my shocks and the front shocks bottom bolts are giving me a hard time. I can't get them to budge, maybe they were torqued to tight. They are 1/2" correct? I just want to make sure, I'm afraid I might strip them. I thought this would be an easy job. Any tips would be appreciated.
TIA,
Joe

Front lower shocks are mounted with two bolts and nuts. I thought they are 13mm heads.
Put your socket/ratchet on the nuts from the bottom first in order to loosen them up.

Thanks, I didn't realize there were nuts on the bottom. That would explain it, I didn't jack the front end up so I didn't catch that. You are right about them being 13mm. I got the front shocks replaced thanks to the help from you guys, that was my fault for not using the repair manual, shame on me. I'll leave the rear for another weekend.
Thanks again,
Joe
