If you don't get too behind on the little things, they seem to go and go. I have a 94LT1 that I bought 2 years ago for less than 10K (I can't really remember, I think 8K). I drive 30K per year - have 125K on the Odo right now. Just took it from the top of California to the Desert (La Quinta) last weekend - about 900 miles before it was over... and there really isn't anything I'd rather drive.

6K miles a year? No problem.

My C4 has been one of the most reliable cars I've owned. I've had VWs, Honda, Ford, Toyota, Vauxhall and now GM. I have daily driven it in traffic, and regularly driven it hard in the mountains.

Then again I do my research before buying cars, look after my cars and fix stuff when it breaks.
Set your budget as high as you can and don't be tempted to buy a cheap one to 'do up'.

I recently bought a 93 c4 used from a private owner. 135k miles on it. When i first got it to a mechanic he told me the car was in excellent shape, but needed a tune up. He told me that the car had the original spark plugs, hoses etc.. and this car STILL ran like clock work. Taken mine on many long trips and never had a problem. Imo very reliable.
