Which spark plug wires are which?
While I'm replacing my Opti and water pump and have lots of room I decided to replace my spark plug wires. I've read the various guides including the C4 Tech Tip: How to Change LT1 Spark Plug Wires so my question isn't how to do it but which new wires to use.
The picture below shows the 9 (yes, 9!) new plug wires and I assume the longest 6 are easy as they're the furthest plugs, #8,6 and 4 on the passenger side and $7, 5 and 3 on the driver side. But which do I use of the other three, or is the answer "whatever works".
Thanks in advance!
John

The problem for me is the wires have already been changed (at least once) and like all the other maintenance on the car, they were done wrong. To be specific, some barely reach the Opti and others have 3-4" of slack. That's why the usual approach won't work for me.

I've never actually changed the wires on my '96, but this thread might help with some pictures.
Ron posted some really good ones from the NCM.
The factory wires (at least on the LT4) did have the cylinder numbers marked on them.

Thanks to all who replied this is now a project marked "Done". Wish I could offer a few tips to shorten the process for the next person who tries it - it took me parts of two days - but I can at least answer two of my own questions.
First, I began by mentioning “9 wires” but as I quickly learned that’s in fact 8 spark plug wires and the coil/Opti wire. Second, contrary to what I at first assumed, the two longest wires with the straight boots apparently do NOT install on the back cylinders on each side. Rather as the FSM seems to confirm in the diagram of the passenger side at 6D4-11 (as does the wonderful NCM passenger side picture RollaMo-LT4 referenced above), both go on the passenger side (Cylinders 8 and 6).
