Tall person mod

Tall person mod
I'm looking to break into the ranks of corvette owners but have the problem of being tall.
6'5
I sat in a 1986 corvette the other day and basically hurt myself getting in it (scraped knee).
I didn't have a problem with the height just not enough legroom. I'm wondering if its possible to cut out anything behind the drivers seat to allow for more leg-room, should I try out a c3/c5 for fit or should I just give up on this dream?
Any 6 foot brethren who own c3/c4/c5 and managed to fit in them your advice would be much appreciated.

Burning Brakes
6'4 & 275 here....
A lot of tall people have their height in their legs. Mine is in the torso.
Luckily I have a vert...
At first it was tight, but pretty much anything I get into is tight...
Its nice when the top is down, but on the occasions I am caught in the rain and have to drive with the top up my head hits the headliner.
I have gotten used to it...
Here is a pic of my Big head sticking out:

Hmmm, I`m 6`2 & have no trouble in my `87. Was the seat in the `86 lowered all the way & tilted back? Did you have the steering wheel tilted up?
I had a C3, & don`t remember any real difference in leg room between the two cars.

If you don't fit in a C4, the C3 won't work. There is much more room in the C5, I drive all 3 and I can tell you at 6'2", the C5 is the most comfortable.

Melting Slicks
No problem with a '95 convert. 6'3" and a bit over 275.......I just had to learn too get my behind in first and then drag the legs in. Once I'm in it's fine. BTW=sports seats, may make a difference. My C5 does have a bit more room, but I love my C4.

I am 6'3 and the best thing I did was remove the sunvisor from my 86. Improved the view, couldn't put it down anyway, it blocks entire line of sight. I like driving it a lot more with the top off also

Remember him?
I met him once, that guy was too damn tall. Imagine him in a c4.

I'm 6'5" as well and am pretty comfortable in my 87. I've also had an 86 and an 88. I have a coupe, and with the sport seat back and down (and with the front of the seat tilted up just a bit), it's a comfortable fit. If I throw my head back, I can hit the panel, but I have to try.
My height is in my legs, so I do have to squeeze under the steering wheel, but once I'm in, it's a good fit--even at the track.
Sounds like a C5 might be the way to go if you just can't get comfortable in a C4.
