!996 grand sport
How can you tell if you have a grand sport.
I', looking at a 96 with LT1 6speed. The engine a a plate that say Grand sport how ever the rims don't match.
Is there a way you can tell by the vin?

A Grand Sport would be blue with a big white stripe down the center, rear 11" wheels with 315's with fender flares, the dash tach would redline @ 6300 rpm. And the LT4 intake painted red.
Vin number is unique.

1996 Grand Sport Corvettes had a unique VIN series ranging from 1G1YY2251T5600001 to 1G1YY2251T5601000.
If a 96 is a 6 Speed then, it is a LT4.
The engine plate says GS and the intake is red? Its a LT4

Also, for a non-GS, if the 8th digit of the VIN is a "5", then it is an LT4 car. When buying parts, you will often see choices for "VIN 5" or "VIN P" - the "P" designates an LT1.
