battery was dead so I charged it now security wont turn off. I did the lock unlock that I heard about on google but the light is still on solid(not flashing) and wont let me start the car. What do you guys think could be the problem?

Story on car: friend gave it to me not running charged bat and put new injectors in it and it fired up, has a draw somewhere and drained battery, now security wont turn off and wont let me start it.

What's the lock unlock google tip? Are you putting the key in the driver door lock in an attempt to turn off the alarm?

Like 4 sites said to put the key in the door9I did drivers but it didn't say) then lock and unlock the door like your getting in the car.

Open the driver side door panel and see if you can jump the circuit....in other words when your driver side door lock is used, it turns and a switch makes a ground.

Try grounding those wires and see if that doesn't reset the alarm.

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery for about 30 seconds and that should turn it off. I keep a 5/16 wrench in my car for this reason. That does not address the problem but should get you going. Dave

i can turn off my 88 alarm with both the driver and pass. locks.

my 84 did he same thing; disconnect the battery,charge it while disconected, unlock both doors with the key, reconnectbattery after fully charged.should be fine ,hopefully . with the grace of the corvette gods. at least thats what i did and it worked. just my 2 cents
