Default 86 Headlight Issue-

My headlight door motor want to stay running after it closes -Sounds like it not making connection to shut off? I seen some posts on this issue for 88 to 96 models with bushing failure I do not believe this has bushings like the 88 to 96 models-- so could it be a relay? Or is it the motor gears need to be replaced? Is there a way to test?
If I pull out the light switch a little motor stops ---

Default The limit switch in your motor is bad!!

it appears that the limit switch in your motor has died. The limit switch is supposed to stop the voltage once the motor reaches it's travel and firmly sits against the stop. Here is a pretty good article on the limit switch and the system in general. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...oor-motor.html The system can be a little overwhelming at first but once you understand it makes sense as a way of making the light stay firmly rattle free in the up or down position.

I had that same problem and it turned out to be the bushings. They were shot so they allowed the motor to "think" it still had
