i was trying to boost of my vertte when i hooked up the cables i forgot not to put the ground cable on the battery,i did then the ground cable started to smoke, now my vette wont even click, did i just ruin the battery or more, any answers will really help me.

If you hooked up positive to positive and ground to ground on both batteries -- even if you used the battery terminals rather than the frame -- it should not have caused any cable smoking or damage to the car's electrics. It sounds like you shorted it by hooking to the wrong terminals.

Any auto parts place can test the battery for damage.
