How fast are L98 C4's?
Hello, I'm new and I don't know a lot about cars and modding, but I was wondering how fast a stock L98 vette will take me from 0-60 and what it's top speed is? Thanks.

Your question is a little vague. Speed will depend on the year, gearing, stick vs manual and the DRIVER has a lot to do with speed. Here is a listing for you based on the book CORVETTE SPORTS CAR SUPERSTAR. They don't give you a top end, but 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile speeds. So are from GM, others come from test by Car & Driver, Motor Trend and Road & Track...and others.
....... 0-60 1/4 mile speed
1984 7.0 15.5 @ 88
1985 5.7 14.1 @ 97
1986 no listing
1987 6.3 15.11 @ 93.8
1988 5.6 14.3 @ 95
1989 5.4 N/A
1990 5.7 14.3 @ 97.1
....... 0-60 1/4 mile speed

1985 5.7 14.1 @ 97
1986 no listing
1987 6.3 15.11 @ 93.8
1988 5.6 14.3 @ 95

1990 5.7 14.3 @ 97.1

Depends on its state of tune how sound mechanically etc. THey do the 50 yd dash pretty well, some do the 100 better. Still pretty decent considering their age but you wont be getting out of one with your knees knocking.

Not knowing the gears with the auto....I would say the 6.3 for the 0-60 would hold. With tires and good temp. at the track....perhaps mid to low 14's.
I think the 15.11 thru the 1/4 for the 87 (listed as 240 HP with manual 4 speed) was driver, track conditions and temp. Remember the above numbers I posted were from the book. Drivers, temp, track conditions, gearing, tires, manual vs automatic ALL make a difference in times.

Fast is a relative term like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
If your used to an econo box 4 cylinder then yes, your Vette it fast----er.
If you run a 6 second flopper on Sunday, your Vette is not very fast.
However they are fun to drive & the gen 1 small block can put out some serious hp & torque #'s. How fast you want to make it will depend on how many dead presidents reside in your wallet.
I have heard that C4's tend to get a bit light in the nose starting around 130.

My 1985 C4. 148 mph. Nose was buried to the ground. Very steady and sure footed.

1985 Corvette Z51
149 mph at 4,600 rpm and still climbing, but a curve was ahead...
5.7 seconds = 0-60
3.07:1
700R4
113K miles on odometer
93 octane (Full tank)
Stage 1 ADS chip, Air Foil, 160F thermostat, Mobil 1 20W-50 oil, Slick 50
The 1985 L98 230 hp rating is at 4,000 rpm,
but it is still producing horsepower/torque until 4,800 rpm.

If you are talking about the exotic C-4 of around 87 vintage.
There are a few that come to mind.
Twin Turbo Callaway.. Top Speed around 185.
ZR 1 .. Very similar for basically a stock built race car.
And the granddaddy of all vettes.
The 88 Sledgehammer. top speed in excess of 250 mph. It was a car that could have been build as an option. But the cost was very very expensive. 400K or so. The fastest corvette still !
Even in usual stock form. My 87 is plenty fast and a blast to drive. She runs great around 70 MPH. Gets good gas mileage and did I mention fun to drive?
