I just have a problem drilling holes in a perfectly good car body.
You know, after you drill the first one, you have to drill the rest.................

If it was actually bought new from a dealer like that it would be the equivalent of a dealer putting aftermarket wheels on cars like they do sometimes.
No.

It might have been done by a dealer when the car was new but the Greenwood parts aren't "factory" parts. Simple way of proving what I mean by that is to look up all of the RPO codes for the car. You aren't going to find one relating to a body kit.

All of Greenwood's ground efects are made specifically for Corvettes. Over the years I have seen about a dozen variations of the C4 kits. Some say Greenwood, some say Corvette, some don't say anything at all. I don't at all know this as a fact but I would be willing to bet that it is reflective of their licensing agreements with GM at the time.

Greenwood, sure, but C5 no! Let me put it this way, how many people do you think would want a C3 with a C4 body kit? As said for the cost of parts and conversion, you could be looking at a C5. I really like that white Greenwood, really has a cool boat look on the back.

Hi Just my 2 cents
I have the same kit on my 87 convertible from the dealer in Ft.Lauderhill Fla.
says CORVETTE on the wing was made by Corrazza
Chevrolet made them stop making it as the company did not
pay chevy to use the word Corvette
They are kind of rare today
In 88 Chevy made a kit that was almost identical
and was sold on a special order basis called a GTO.

I bought my car with the Greenwood kit expecting to take it off, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. Plus, its the only one I have ever seen with the exhaust going through the bumper... I also left it on because I would have alot of holes to fill......WW
I also think the body kit adds about 40 hp.....Really...

Melting Slicks
No they didn't, but there was a ground effects kit that was a dealer option that was available in 1988. It was called a "GTO" kit.

The only design feature of these cars that I really don't care for is the flying wedge -- or more accurately, doorstop wedge -- front end. With apologies to the owner of this convertible for its (mis)use and to everyone else for some very crude photoshopping, here is what I would do if I had my modification druthers:
Then I'd stick a Ferrari prancing horse badge on the hood in place of the Corvette flag.
I don't know, maybe one day I'll get out the Sawzall and......

Maybe someone else is making that C4-to-C5 conversion kit now, but it used to be made by C5West. Since many of the pics on page 1 (of this thread) came from the C5West website, it'll give the OP a clue what to look for using the search function. (Sometimes, the search function here puts the big disappointment on me though.) Look for C5West and see what you come up with. (I wouldn't do that kit either. I'd opt for a real C5 [and get the motor] if that was my bag.)
I think there are some kits (or pieces of kits) that can add an athestic appeal for certain owners. OTOH, I'm not crazy about the stick-on look for any car. Most Greenwood kits look stick-on (taped on).
The ToledoPro Channel (TP) kit is one of my favorites. It had integrated body panels that attach at the beltline. Also, the Geiger widebody kit out of Germany is really cool (but it's stupid expensive). I probably would have gone with the Channel kit if I hadn't got the bug for sidepipes. Bodykit fans, I did as much thinking about kits as anyone here. I spent 4yrs cyphering over the subject before making a decision. Even then, there's always something you won't like. (I think it's the nature of the thought that comes with wanting to improve the looks of a car! LOL) My decision was born out of the notion that I didn't want any stick-on parts.
Sidepipes replace the rocker panels and don't look stick on. With the right front spoiler and TP hood, it made it's own sinister kit. My wing ended up as a way to cover a botched antenna delete/shave. I didn't want to risk reshooting (painting) the DS rear quarter to fix the problem. So, I installed the only wing that covers the antenna hole. From some angles I like the wing, from others I don't. OTOH, I feel same way about most cars. (Some angles are always better than others!)
Whereas I used to like the rearview of my 89 (best) when I first bought it, now this is my favorite angle....
The rear view still looks really good, but I'm not crazy about the side view. My opinion: If you want/need a kit, you'll NEVER be happy. It's fun, but happiness doesn't come from a body kit. And, I say this after going down that road.
That doesn't mean I can't appreciate the look I've accomplished (or the look of other modified cars). It's just that a pristine factory car converted to a restorod (including a hopped up motor) is what I appreciate more and more, the older I get.
