C4 Body Kits

There are some low price options for body kits, but you will definitely trade some design and quality. I bought a kit a few years ago for $1500 that came with a new front and rear bumper, side skirts, lights and a spoiler. The bad: there were voids in the fiberglass, the spoiler fit poorly, the front and rear bumpers had no provisions to mount the lights, and the front bumper did not align well with the hood. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. The Greenwood kit is expensive, but as someone with fiberglass experience, it takes time and money to do it right. My favorite is the morrison body kit, but I don't think you can buy anything like it.

The C5 looks pretty but I'm liking the C6 kit.

1 car not selling doesn't mean anything. There could be a plethora of reasons that it isn't selling. There are dozens of non-modified Corvettes right here on this forum that have had the asking price cut in half because they won't sell.
Like I said, the market might be smaller, there is no doubt about that but I guarantee that a Callaway bodied C4 WILL sell for more than a stock one and a Greenwood car will generally sell for about the same price as a stock one, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Some hack job body kit car isn't going to bring as much just like a hack job car with mechanical mods won't sell for as much, but a well built one can often bring more.
-No Vette enthusiast will buy one
-Cars with body kits are worth half as much
-...
Making blanket statements and generalizing about things is just plain wrong.
For example, take my car again. It has a body kit, it has all sorts of other mods done to it inside and out. The interior is nothing more than spray paint and some aluminum. The paint is far from perfect, the wheels have some scratches, 99% of the electrical parts in the car are either missing or don't work... since it has a body kit and other mods, I guess it is worth half as much as a stock one, right?

Hi Jagged
As you can see you get a lot of people with opinions on this. You can get the greenwood kits. Or you can do as I have done and mix and mach with
parts from Mid America and some other producers of body parts. The best thing to keep in mind is it's your car. Make your self happy with it. Some of the people on this forum have some real nice cars and they are not stock bodies. The selling point is up to you I never gave it a thought as the car is a hobby and no more to me.
Good luck
Brian

As far as body kits, don't like them but it's your car, you should do what makes you happy. I like the lines as they are.

Thanks for the comment Socalman
Not all mods will fit with the stock body and hood, it all depends on what you want. I like my car perform well.
Take Care

Jagged,
a body kit would be an excellent idea for your Vette. I already spoke with RedLS1GTO and I got all phone numbers, websites and measurements to start the body kit on early 2012.
I also cleared the issue with the doorstop with socalman after Jon Hekkin e-mailed me 5 minutes ago.
Now, I fully understand the body kits potential.
