1989 Corvette Targa Top. Automatic , Full power, Bright Blue and new Seats, Custom Mats,,, Needs Battery, AC Compressor and Headlight Actuators. three owner Texas car with low miles. Will drive and run excellent with requisite repairs. Clear Texas Title and Transfer papers Sorry no trades or financing Michael ( I can see not wanting to spend the time or money fixing the headlights and ac on a vehicle you are selling but why in the world would you not put a battery in it? unless it has More series problems like electrical or alternator etc.

Inoperative A/C for ANY reason and electrical problems are deal killers for me! They are expensive to repair and electrical problems can drive you crazy, specially on a Vette! It reaches 100+ with humidity to boot here in the summertime so A/C is necessary for this old geezer!

I am the opposite when it comes to A/C on a Vette. I don't even know if mine works or not. I have never tried to turn it on. I take the top off and enjoy the fresh air. Of course it never really gets crazy hot in CT. My GMC Envoy is different. A/C is a must in that truck! The battery issue would make me nervous though. It is cheap enough to replace before you sell it. Sounds like maybe he is hiding something or maybe just lazy. Either way I would avoid this car without a thorough inspection. He also left out the mileage of the car, which is the most important piece of information. It probably has a lot of miles.

He is right on both accounts. You do have a good plan and there are plenty to choose from. Take your time and choose carefully. Don't settle, the one you want is out there somewhere.

Absolutely. And my roof won't leak a drop when I replace the shingles.

Hmmm . . . so if I'm selling, I need to point out that the a/c is perfect and that both headlight motors have been replaced? Can't help but wonder how much that's worth (but given the cost of the parts - about 2 grand for the a/c stuff and headlight motors - I'd guess maybe 10% or $200). You never get back what you put into these things and for me, that's probably twice what I paid new, but I don't worry about it. People do ask me about my Vette and depending on my mood, I tell them they can have it for 7500 or 10 grand. No one has ever taken me up on it, but if someone really wants it, hit me up on a 7500 day - and maybe I'll tell you more about the a/c and headlight motors.

Yeah since he didnt actually mention how many miles it would be interesting to find out his definition of "low miles".

I once looked at a truck that said "like brand new" The bed was rusted out, had 139K miles, oil and grease all over the motor. Sheesh.

"Recently washed inside and out and undercarriage" ...on a flood car from New Orleans.
"May need some engine work" ....on a car with a hole in the side of the block from a rogue connecting rod.
"Complete, original HEMI car! Original hemi long gone, has 440 now." ....Mopar guys are weird like that.

...........it's all in the wording. If you do it right, you can make even the worst turd sound like a gem.

Some people are out of work and don't have the money for a battery.
