Has anyone replaced their dashlights with cooler burning LED lights? found some on flea-bay, figure less heat would be great for the LCD Cluster, and brighter would be nice for the DIC as well. Does anyone know if they are as bright, or brighter?

Don't bother with the first one you have listed (10 T10 bulbs)...they do fit and light up real nice...for a while. There's no current-limiting resistor and will burn those LEDs up in short order.

The multi-LED bulbs, I don't know about.

Concur Im running LEDs all over the car but that is one place they wont be going for this reason. The bulbs really work fine.

hmm, should i put a current limiting resistor on the power wire to keep them from burning up...

The LEDS are just inserted into a plastic T10 base with the leads bent around. I haven't had a chance to do it yet, but I'm looking into getting some smaller LED bulbs with the resistor soldered on the leads.

BTW, these bulbs were installed as license plate bulbs on my HHR that I use for work...lasted 2 days, tops. The LEDs are really big and throw out a lot of light...for a few hours, anyway.

When going through the digital dash on my 89 I noticed that the area around the light bulbs on the circuit card had changed from green to a light brown color and that all 4 sockets appeared melted and the brass contacts had a black substance that I could only scratch-off with an exacto blade, so I replaced the sockets and installed these LEDs which barley fit. Just doing a touch test there was no heat on the LEDs, but a lot of heat on the bulbs. Don’t know how long these LEDs will last as I just did this change and don’t have any miles on it. And yes the brightness was about the same or slightly brighter and whiter

Always include the year vette you are asking help for. There are two different lamps used in C4 clusters depending on the year.
