84 Corvette for $4000
guy is selling his sisters 84 corvette (she died) he said its been in her barn for 10 years.
73000 miles, he only wants $4k

here's the thing. It's carbureted, with a manual. The crossfire is gone.
Wife drove it (car's in Indiana) all the electronics work.
what's my exposure here?
it's still the original motor, the crossfire just got flipped over into a carb.

What are you wanting to do with the car? If you just want a fun daily driver and it runs good or you want to build a quarter mile warrior, flash $3K in cash in front of them and I bet you drive off in it. If you want to go back to the Crossfire, they're abundant and cheap to buy providing the wiring on the car isn't butchered.
If you want anything other than the above out of the car, move on. C4's are cheap and abundant right now....and you've been in the game long enough to know what stuff like interior parts cost.
Best of luck....let us know what you decide, and of course, pics are mandatory even from the veterans.

I think you could buy it for $3K, fix the minor crap yourself whenever it breaks, drive it for 3 or 4 years, and sell it for what you paid for it. They've depreciated all they're ever gonna.....

It would be a dd
what kind of MPG are we talking? I drive a truck now that's 20mpg on the hwy
I've had C5's and a C3, but the C3 barely got driven... ever. POS

Not sure with a carb....would depend on the state of tune. The problem with most carb conversions is that they're often done by amateurs, and not set up correctly. In my experience, carb setups tend to run pig rich compared to EFI.
When I had my bone stock 84, I regularly got about 18 in town, 24-27 on the highway with the A/C blasting.

My point exactly. A shop that can't get a basic TBI setup to run correctly probably can't tune a carb either. Any high school auto shop student with a service manual should be able to make one run. VERY basic EFI system.

there are a few scratches on the top of the rear and the front bumper has some yellow paint on it on the underside of the passenger side.
and the drivers sun visor is AWOL
it is a nash 4+3 though
I've not driven the car, so I've not messed with it... I understand you can row through first to 4th and the "+3" is an overdrive... maybe it'll make sense once I drive it.

They did good by me working on my C5's.
if the card setup is really bad, I'll just throw on a stand-alone TPI or something
nothing like comparing a 27 year old Chevy vs. a 5 y/o Hyundai ...
