For me it was between 75-80 with the ZF and 3.33:1 rear gear. Any lower and the engine would have to work to hard to go up hill and any faster just used more gas.

My '96 gets the best fuel mileage of any 4 wheeled vehicle I own.
So, I really don't worry if one speed might be slightly better than another.
At interstate speeds of 70-75, I can get in the 30-32 mpg range.
I won't average anywhere near that for a full tank though.
But just cruising down the interstate with cruise engaged, the LT4 is very acceptable.
