Default FM Radio Antenna Problem

Short background - Replaced antenna mast. Had to take motor out to remove broken parts. Now I only get AM radio. The radio scans but doesn't pick up any FM stations. Anyone know which wire I hooked up wrong? Really stumped here. Thanks, Karen

Default the mast extends/retracts?

I am assuming that the mast is extending/retracting. The big fat black coaxial is the radio signal carrier. I have to ask if you cleaned the area where the mast touches it's housing, too. The last thing would be the external ground lead. What year are we dealing with?

1990 Convertible. The mast is now going up and down perfectly. The radio sounds great on AM stations, but, I can't get any FM stations. Is there a particular wire which governs FM? If it were the ground, wouldn't it affect both AM and FM? You know, now that I think about it, we found the ground unhooked when we went to remove the motor. Now it's hooked up again.

It's the same antenna cable for AM and FM. There's
nothing unique to FM in the antenna. I think
you have a radio problem, not an antenna problem.

Did you have any problem receiving FM Stations before you repaired the antenna? I would suggest putting the ground wire back the way that you found it before you repaired the mast and see if that helps.

The last time the antenna worked, the FM was fine. Maybe we'll give that a try. Thanks.
