question for those with very original, low mileage 85 corvettes
i know this is a minor detail, but this is driving me nuts!!! i seem to remember my stock 85/L98 corvette as having studs mounted in the cylinder heads, and nuts to secure the valve covers, and i'm like 99.9999% sure. what's driving me crazy is some other 85 owners have bolts securing the valve covers. now it's possible that my 85 was modified, but i bought the car with 33K miles, and as i remember everything looked original and factory when i bought it. i know this is a minor detail, and some of you may think this discussion is a waste of time, but i'm obsessed in getting to the bottom of this -. so bolts or studs&nuts??? also, if anyone has a very original, low mileage, and can take a detailed, close-up pic showing any one of the valve cover mounting hardware, please do so - a top flight or bloomington gold car would be great.
i'm obsessed with this - what's driving me crazy is i can remember a bunch of minor details about the this - like the sound when the holes in the valve cover made, sliding across the threads on the studs, the small diameter, SAE type washers under the nuts, the automotive type, black oxide nuts, the sparkplug wire routing brackets, and how all this stuff went together. am i crazy, or did all this happen in some parallel universe -
