Back in like 1998 I had a girl trade her 94 Camaro in that she said had "the hi-performance 6" according to the salesman that sold it to her. Everybody wants to have something special but 99.99% of the time it ain't.

Just because it's not a "special edition" does not mean it's worthless. It appears to be a decent car and I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding it a good home. Or maybe you should buy it from your Dad yourself - they really ARE addictive!

I agree and the individuals at the dealerships I spoke with agreed with me when I told them I thought he was mislead. I told Dad the same thing. Dad says everyone is mistaken.

The dealer he purchased the car from in Florida is out of business. I have called 2 other dealers about the matter and no one knows anything about it either. He says the dealer sales personel told him that and a collector in North Carolina told him the same thing.

I appreciate everyone's help. Without it, I may have soon found myself with a misrepresentation claim on ebay. I also searched Google for a collector series to no avial. Yep, sounds like BS to me.

I recognized that right away, Viper powered as I recall. Rarity certified by Galen Govier no doubt.

I like this guy - he can take it and he can dish it out too!

You probably have seen it, but there is a "C-4's for sale" forum here. Check out the options and get a good description and post it there - might help you sell it.

As for the "special" story, no one of us knows it all, but I'd say collectively we do. If there was some sort of "500 a year" option SOMEBODY here would know about it.

You sound like a car guy - still think you'd enjoy keeping it!

Take some good pictures and put the car up for sale in the Corvette Forum's C4 For Sale section. You could also list it for sale in the C4 Vette Registry: http://www.c4vetteregistry.com/Default.asp

there is another so called special edition corvette from 92 besides the one millionth corvette. The Corvette America3 commemorative edition that was white with red interiors. They were not an Gm special edition car Gm only furnished the cars to the America cup race. The sponser of the race had special gold badges made for the cars. They are not rare except for someone that cant live without it. Even AMT model company made a promo model for dealers to sell.

Thin skinned people have no business on public forums, especially when they mention non existant collector series. Weren't trying to dish anything out, just injecting a little light hearted humor.

Seeing as how I get to keep anything over $3000 on this sale, I was hoping it was rare, you guys rained on my parade. Thank you. You may have saved me a future embarrassing moment concerning false claims and such.

Thanks, I have noticed the for sale section and will post it later. As for keeping it, I wish I could afford it.

That is the beauty of a forum. you can find out what you need to know in a hurry. Collectively, accurate information on anything you are looking for is available.

140,000 miles. Not sure if there is a manual. Standard 6 spd tranny.

It is filthy. The engine needs a good washing. Pop is scared to wash it because when he washed it previously, he fried the distributor, He didn't have the engine running for starters and used a garden hose....

As for the price, not sure. Still debating between classifieds or ebay...

Not sure where you are located, but if the car runs good, no problems with the clutch or tranny, cleaned up it should be worth around $6000 (+ or - 30%). You can wash the engine, just don't wash near the water pump. Scrub the car out, replace any bad panels in the seats (local upholstry shop should be about $150 a seat if both top and bottom need repair. Re-attach the door panels if loose. Maybe replace some of the weatherstriping with cheap stuff from EBAY (buyers will deduct for bad weatherstrip, but won't pay you extra for the good stuff).Fix as much of the little problems that you can, it will pay off when you sell it. If you live in or near a big population area, Craigs list is pretty much the only game in town.

I don't want you to even wash it , if it has a full tank of gas we can drain some out , shoot me a buy now where it is as it is price, If it works for me I'll come and get it in 2 days and bring green wrinkly hundred dollar bills !
