Adding Door Speakers to Non-Bose '84?
My '84 came with the standard radio, so it only has two speakers in the dash and two speakers in the rear. I'm pretty new to C4's, so I'm not all that familiar with these cars. Do all Vettes have the cutout for the Bose speakers in the door frame, regardless of whether they actually had speakers in them? Or is it a case of where the holes were only cut if the car was optioned with the Bose system?
If anyone has any pictures of the door with the door panel removed, that'd be really helpful.
Thanks for the help!

I honestly don't know if they all came with the Bose cutout in door, but you would have to think so.
Here are a few pics, the first one with panel off and Bose box in place.
Made a couple of mounting plates, duplicating size and screw locations from Bose box.
Bose removed and mounting plate for 6.5" speakers about to be mounted.
Mounting plate installed and top and bottom trimmed with router bit in die grinder.
You could do it simpler, just the way I chose.
