2010 Camaro SS vs. 96 LT1/LT4
#81
I hate to say it, BUT,,,,,,
Last year I drove a bright red, 2010 SS Chevy Camaro, from Avis Rentals. Granted, it was a "rental car" and was NOT a V-6 but a V-8. If this is what Chevy is putting all their hopes into, they are s__t out of luck. It was a total DOG.
A few months later, I tried another 2010 SS Camaro. (This one was silver). Same, It's a DOG.
Now remember these were "rental cars". Maybe they put a governor's on them or something, but even with traction control shut off and in water, just a little spin of a tire, is all I could get.
What a let down!

I plan on taking them both to the San Antonio race way and get some hard numbers. Will update when completed.

Burning Brakes
We have one of each and I can't say I've ever really compaired them, I just drive them. I drive the SS everyday and the LT4 on weekends and enjoy them both, but have to admit that the SS does move. Maybe I should take and race myself and see...........lol
No, I'll let you guys fight it out and watch to see who wins.

It would be pretty close. Thew camaro is heavy but both drivers being equal, the SS should win by a tad. I would think the LT4 should win on a road course though.
Don't really know, don't really care.
Oh and by the way, this has been compared on C5 Gen and the consensus is the C5 will win by a little, but not a whole bunch. On a road course, the C5 wins hands down. Mine is rated in the 12's. Now then we also have the Z06 since we're talking about the SS. Guess who wins that one?

Melting Slicks
16 years means a lot of technology I would bet on the SS. However with good rubber and new suspension and professional drivers I would bet the Corvette could hold its own on a road course reguardless of 16 years of technology.Unlike the Mustang and Challanger the Corvette is a true sports car the others are SPORTY cars.
