Hello zammy, if your batteries are dead then, there is not much left to do but to buy a new one.

My other vehicle fobs still have original batteries after 9 years. These NEW batteries in the 94 have only been lasting 6 months. So.... you're saying this is the normal life expentency of NEW batteries?

The key fobs contain a small ball that rolls around when the fob is moved. (Shake your fob and you can hear it rattle) When this ball moves, it activates the fob and causes it to send out its signal to the receiver in your car. When the fob sits still, the ball doesn't move and the fob becomes inactive.
If you carry the fob in your pocket all of the time, the fob will be constantly activated causing short battery life expectancy.
