And that was five years ago. How you feel now.

I paid $5300 for my '86 with 58,000 miles on it four years ago. Car is really clean.

I bought a 92 six speed with 51k miles on it in 2004 for $11k from the original owner. He had all the service records including the mileage every time he filled the tank. Never had a problem with that one. I would keep looking if I were you.

What you are seeing here is that model are year and mileage are not important. Condition and maintenance history should determine whether you go for it or move on. There are many relatively complex systems on the C4. While they are very reliable they are all prone to failure over time. If the car has been up, parts replaced and malfunctions corrected as they arise the car should be a winner. If its a neglected rat move on, quickly. Don't be tempted by a low price and don't be swayed by low mileage. Over its 13 year reign there are 4 fairly distinct era's, depending on how you define them. The early crossfire's, the 4+3 Doug Nash trans models, L83, L98, LT1 and LT4, not to mention the moster LT5 DOHC. While they are all C4's each has its own personality. Each has a fairly unique set of characteristics that will determine just how much you wnjoy your Vette. Its a good idea to gather as much information as you can. This is the place to do that. Good luck and enjoy the quest.
