Default new pics of my 85: lowered, custom wheels, gfx

I already posted these in the "19 inch wheel thread" but I thought I'd ***** it out a little bit more for people who probably wouldn't look in that thread. Big wheel and ground effects haters will want to leave the thread now.

I've had my 85 restored for about 2 years now. I was running some 20's on it prior to now.

I never intended to keep them on it although they did look very nice and suited the car well (some people even think they looked nicer than the new wheels!). So I ordered some new wheels. This was kind of a once in a lifetime thing, something I'd always dreamed about having, a custom built set of 3 piece lightweight wheels. They took about 7 weeks to be built.

Got my new wheels mounted last week along with my new SS brake lines, did a quickie alignment to get the tops of the tires even with the fenders without rubbing, and cleaned the car up for some pics. I still need a way to get another degree of camber out of the drivers front, but this will do for now.

Specs are: iforged seneka brushed finish spokes/polished lip, toyo proxes one tires, front 19x10 +35 295-30, rear 19x11 +35 305-30 (would have gone bigger but couldn't find a 315).

Yes, I plan to change the tag as soon as it runs out next month, as it's no longer applicable since I don't have black rims on a black car anymore.

And, just for the record, you can say what you want about the 20's, but they actually rode smoother than the new 19s on it now...maybe because they are not as wide/heavy as the new 19s are.

Your new wheels are gorgeous. Well done. I am not a big fan of wings and body kits, but I must say you whole package sure does fit together well.

WOW, that's one hot car you've got there. The new wheels are simply FANTASTIC. Nicely done. You should be able to get at least -1.5 degree of camber on the front wheels, but if you want more, you've got to go with SPC upper control arms. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SPS-92750/

Thanks guys, it turned out just as well as I'd hope. My dad gave it to me after he bought a c5 and neglected this one, and now it puts the c5 to shame.

Well, at least in terms of inside and out appearance.

Now to figure out what to do about that whole power thing.......

hmmmm.......

I've always thought that c4's, and sportscars in general, look like dogsh!t without wings. I couldn't imagine my vette without a wing of some sort. Maybe if there were a c6-look rear lip I might give it a try.

I've not really identified what this wing actually is, stock or aftermarket. It was on the car when dad bought it used in about 93-94. It looks like a copy of the greenwood, or maybe greenwood copied a stock wing when they made theirs?

It's not a stock wing, C4's didn't come with a wing. It's an aftermarket copy of the Greenwood wing. I personally don't care for it, but those wheels are freaking awesome.

Wow!!!
You are an excellent example of someone who understands design and aesthetics. Like most, I am not a fan of body kits and such but when the whole package... ie body kit, wheels, stance, color etc., are well executed, the results are phenomenal. This is why most people here love this car... it is pleasing to the eye. One of my favorites here on the forum. You have a great skill and you should be proud.
Peace.
Stephen
