Who should rechrome my wheels??
I have a set of 92 ZR1 sawblade wheels that I am wanting to send off to get chromed.
Can anyone please give me some suggestions on chrome shops that do an excellent job. I am located in Kentucky and realize I will have to ship these off.
Give me some help please on anyone you may have used or have heard does an excellent job.
I talked to a gentleman at calchrome, sounds like they do a real good process on them with a good warranty.
I don't believe I have the option to do a wheel exchange, being I cannot find a company that actually stocks these wheels, these are the 17X11 rears, and yes I know that they will stick out some .
Thanks for your help in advance, I want to have these ready when spring arrives.

Re Chrome alloy wheels, make sure you use dry nitrogen !!
Air has moisture and it will attack the chrome i had a slow leak on one of my A molds, when the tire was removed i was shocked.
All the chrome had peeled off in little *****
I got another second hand rim from the states
(the shipping to Australia $160)
was supposed to be perfect but i saw the chrome was dodgy.
Anyway i used dry nitro to inflate the tire and top it up as it slowly leaked
a few psi in a week. I finally (months later) got a new rim and found the chrome was still good it had not got worse.
So now all my tires have dry nitrogen (as race cars do) no more problems.

You should know the answer to this then...
Seems like I've heard all/most chromers won't fool with RE-chroming a wheel. The title does say rechroming.

Try local chroming shops (before investing in the round-trip shipping required to accomplish your task).
If that falls through, I'm sure you can find a few listings on the web. Personally, my wheels were purchased thru CorvetteMike. They have two facilities in the US. Not sure if they send theirs out, but I am sure they do good work. (I purchased a set thru a another vendor and didn't like the finish. Sent them right back. Then went to CM's.)

I drive by Advanced Plating every day going to work. It appears to be a fairly large operation from the size of the building and the number of cars parked there every day. I don't know if it means anything but the car shows on TV on the weekend (Power Block series) uses this company for their plating work.
Youl may want to do some price checking before commiting to having the work done, it can be quite pricey. A number of years back I checked on having some wheels rechromed and for the price I could almost buy new wheels. When dealing with a classic vehicle where original wheels are hard to come by it makes sence to have them rechromed.
