27. That was last year. At the end of highschool I had set two goals for myself to reach within ten years. One was to own a vette (I had a v6 firebird at the time). The other involved a girl I was friends with. That didnt last. The vette will always be there for me.

I bought a '57 project car 2 weeks after I turned 15 for $300 back in 1970. 18 months and $2200 later, I was cruising in it.

Default First vette

Almost had one when I was 18. A guy wanted to trade me for my 1974 Nova SS. It just didn't work out. Now I have my first vette at 53 and loving every mile.

All you first timers you are hooked now. Just sit behind the wheel , hold on and look out over the hood, there is no other view like it or drug as addictive.

ToniH, I have a picture of a yellow 77 that I once owned. Performance was down in the mid 70's but profile wise they are one of the prettiest ever built and they all have the Corvette majic whem you sit down behind the wheel!

roadhunter, to me the 63 to 67 were the classic years, had a 63 fuel injected coupe and a 67 big block convertible.

Doesn't the big block make you feel like King of the Road ?

Well, luckily the PO swapped the engine (and stripped all of the smog stuff out) on mine before I bought it. It was plenty fast (top speed about 260kmh/160mph) but quite a slug at low rpm. Later I regretted selling it but I probably would not have the Vettes I have today if I would have kept it. So, maybe it was a good move after all.

Bought my first vette in 1967 at age 17. It was a 1960. Traded my 1965 Mustang for it and discovered true love. Ex wife sold the '60. One of two vettes I lost in my life. Second one was a total write off but kept it for parts. Now have 17 registered and road worthy. Two in process of restoration.

Looks like it is a lifetime addiction. AND still love them.
